Hi All

Just want to know a few simple things which is quite difficult to understand
from the internet.

I want to look in options where I can upgrade a few of my apps with a SQL
Server backend. Why SQL server, coz I am using VFP which belongs to the same
party and thats yhe first one which comes to my mind and also to the people who
use my apps.

>From a Developer point of view:

1. Do I just buy Sql Server Developer verions and dont need anything else.
2. MySql is also good. Which files do I download to use that.

>From a Clients point of view:
1. Does he need to have any thing of his own. My apps are destop apps and not
web based. Right now all my client need to have is a PC with a Windows OS. For
the SQL server part does he require to have something.

I want to start off with a Test App which will maybe have one table and one
view. If I can get that going I will be able to manage.

If any off you have such a app where I can read the code as to how you connect
to the server at the start of the app and how to open data with a form it will
be very useful for a lot of people. Ed's download section need such a link for
newbies.

TIA
