The only communications I've had with the MySQL folks is through their forums. You may want to test the .18 release. They indicate a number of problems are fixed with SQLColumns, which is what ODBC is using internally to query the data structure and determine field sizes: http://forums.mysql.com/read.php?37,166267,166267#msg-166267 The forums may offer some help.
