My wifes grandfather bought a lot of bomb sites, charged people to dump their building rubble into them and then levelled them out and built car showrooms, shops and car parks on them. Make heaps of money and then invested it really badly in the 1960's.
Would much to have been able to marry her for her money apart from her good looks and personality.
