I agree that there is a difference on "Spec" and "Spec" ;->
"speculative work--that is, work done for no cost" is not profitable most of the time. But doing work to a signed off set of specifications is very important. __Stephen -------- Original Message -------- Subject: [NF] Response to request for work on spec From: "Ted Roche" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Mon, August 20, 2007 8:56 am To: [email protected] It's not Fox, it's not tech, but it is related to the business of computing/consulting. We've had the discussion here a few times about how much work to do upfront for a client as part of submitting a bid for a project. While it's not specifically tech, the sample letter supplied by the AIGA hits the target in describing what the problems are with this way of working with a client: http://www.aiga.org/content.cfm/position-spec-work Link found via: http://www.zeldman.com/2007/08/14/dont-design-on-spec/ -- Ted Roche Ted Roche & Associates, LLC http://www.tedroche.com _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: ProFox @leafe.com Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
