Do they have DRM in it that can shut it off and/or cripple your
system mistakenly? Look at the subject line. I know that several
Microsoft defenders have tried to twist this into an argument between
free and paid software, with all sorts of lurid images of houses
being broken into, but the issue that we're *trying* to discuss is
the practice of vendors crippling perfectly legal software through DRM.

I have no problem with paying for software, just like I have no
problem paying to watch a movie or to buy a book. And as much as some
would like to make it seem, I am not in favor of robbing people's
homes. I simply oppose the attitude that treats me like a potential
thief first and a legitimate customer second.
