Who knows... > Michael: If it is the master password for connecting to your ISP, it could very well be your ISP. Whenever the email is down at my ISP, I am prompted for the password to log in. Logging in does nothing of course, but you are prompted whenever it tries to make connection.
This would be the same with any email client.
