I thought it was great...even better than last year (then again, my life
last year at this time was at the depths of hell). Still, I really got
a lot out of this conference. There were several sessions where I
picked up some good stuff, including stuff that I forwarded to my
customers to see if they were interested in such great features (like
MapPoint inclusion). Also, the networking was great, including the
dinners out and the mingling afterwards. Even then I was learning tips
from others at times. The cold beer I shared courtesy Ed/Dave (thanks
guys!!!) tasted great. Really hit the spot after dinner! It was great
to meet Dave Crozier from the UK and so many others whom I've come to
know online but haven't met in person, and of course great to see the
folks I met last year again.

I wish there was an extra day, as there still were about 3+ sessions
that I didn't get to see. Kevin did a wonderful job. The only thing
that would have made me even happier was if the hotel would have kept a
good stock of fresh baked cookies on hand downstairs where our sessions
were. The trail mix was good, but I'm a cookie monster myself. That's
about it...no complaints...only compliments. Kudos to the Cully family!

Let me be the first to say that I'm looking forward to FF 2K8! btw --
I'd offer to do a session on OOP next year if it's requested. I kinda
got the impression that some in attendance were of a classic/legacy
nature were they used SET PROCEDURE a lot and didn't really deal with
and/or perhaps understand the benefits that can sometimes be gained with
used object oriented programming. The fact that Kevin Ragsdale's "crash
course" sessions seemed to be well attended was an encouraging
sign....and there certainly were developers younger than me (36) and
that was nice to see as well (for the idea of "new blood" perhaps). The
seasoned developers were also great to offer their experienced insights
as well.

Thanks everyone...it was wonderful!
