You inspired me !! I got to thinking about setting the caption to
something which would not display but which would return .F. for the
EMPTY() test.
CHR(13) and CHR(10) both return .T. with EMPTY() but CHR(0) returns .F.
and sure enough setting the caption to CHR(0) solves the problem !!!!
