I have a need to periodically monitor upload and download speeds over an EVDO connection over a period of a week or two. Googleing for automated or unattended speed test found nothing useful. Does anyone have a recommendation of something ready to use? If I write my own it will probably just use a straight ftp copy up and down rather than the sophisticated techniques apparently used by most tests. I'm guessing the "official tests" have a way of waiting until there is no traffic then measuring thruput with short bursts in order to avoid excessive loading of the system. My approach would be end up with lower numbers since it would run without waiting for an idle time and would result in higher system loading. Does this make sense? TIA - Joe
