Hi Michael! Interesting link, thanks. This is very much how I remember Detroit twelve years ago when my father died. Think of this as a post-civilization urban decay style, maybe "Boogeyman Revival School" or something. It has a truly international following. In the city it is a pile of garbage in the front yard, in the country it is an old pickup up on blocks for ten years. It isn't a matter of money. I remember working in the Detroit projects thirty years ago as a social worker. The women got really cheap rent and a check every month. Certain of them just like living like that, it is part of their culture going back centuries. Not all of them, though, maybe certain tribes. This one woman stays in my memory. I was discussing project business with her in a matter of fact manner. As we were speaking I noticed that she was playing with a pile of raw garbage with her bare feet, squishing it through her toes. In much the manner of a white girl sifting sand with her toes on the beach, with more-or-less the same level of awareness. -- Regards, Pete http://www.pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
