I think they took me on for my potential and for my enthusiasm for learning new things.
Recently I have be playing around with asterisk (thanks to Dave) a lot and have really enjoyed it, so it was quite an opportunity when they contacted me about the job (just goes to show that putting your CV on CW Jobs works! lol) being in an industry I have always wanted to get involved in (Telecoms).
