In case you're really that clueless about statistics, and not
deliberately distorting things to prove your pet beliefs, you cannot
compare rates unless you have equivalent populations. Most of the
people who die while in medical care, whether through malpractice or
other causes, are already sick or injured, and thus much more
unstable (i.e., likely to die) than non-sick/injured people.
