Charles, I don't know about searching deleted files, but if you have to recover a deleted file I highly recommend the following:
FreeUndelete is a freeware data recovery program for deleted files. http://www.officerecovery.com/freeundelete/ IMPORTANT: If you've accidentally deleted an important file, make sure that you do as little as possible on the affected computer - any disk activity runs the risk of having your deleted files overwritten with other data. If you use the above utility, READ THE INSTRUCTIONS and install the utility on another drive or a USB drive so that the undelete software doesn't overwrite your deleted files. Good luck!
