You quoted carefully-selected excerpts of a what appears to be
either a private email or a public posting by Steve that gave the
strong impression that the issue had a strong financial aspect. The
emphasis, at least to my reading, was that Steve was attacking you
for not paying him for the "privilege" of having him host your wiki
page, and that a high Google search ranking was somehow financially
beneficial to you.
Steve then summarized it quite differently in his "gyst" (sic),
giving the strong impression that he was only politely asking for a
courtesy from you, since he has given his efforts to you and the rest
of the Fox community for several years, and was not harsh,
belligerent or attacking in any way, and that it was your malicious
acts that started this controversy, and not in any way due to his
tone or choice of words in his Wikipedia postings.
Since you selectively quoted his original words, and Steve
completely re-wrote them, I guess we'll never know the truth, since
neither of you seems terribly concerned about making things work
well, but "winning" the argument. But it is no longer an argument; it
has turned into a pissing war, involving not just you two, which is
what Steve's post here implies, but between a lot of people on
Wikipedia.
Would it be asking too much to keep all this fruitless bickering on
Wikipedia, since that's where it belongs? We all have the links, and
if anyone on this list is so inclined, they can follow them and watch
this train wreck on that site.
