Hi Malcolm,

Put the following into a .reg file....and register, this will (should)
map PrtScrn to the F12 key.

(Watch for wordwrap - "Scancode Map"=hex etc, should just be on one
line.

HTH,

Robbo.

Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Keyboard Layout]
"Scancode
Map"=hex:00,00,00,00,00,00,00,00,02,00,00,00,37,e0,58,00,00,00,00,00

Subject: [NF] Map Print Screen keystroke to a function key?

I'm using a customer's HP laptop that requires 3 keystrokes to do a
Print Screen (shift + fn + prt sc).

Any suggestions on how I can map the print screen key to a function key
without installing a 3rd party utility? (I can't install *anything* -
the laptop is totally locked down and we are not allowed to connect USB
drives to the unit either)

My goal is to make it easier to capture screen shots without having to
type the awkward 3 char keystroke I have to use by default.

Thanks!
Malcolm
