It would be too little if she were not employed as well and if she felt 
that it was insufficient then she should mention it to me.  Never has 
she but when there is a special need, I've never hesitated to pull out 
my checkbook and contribute.

You aren't me and offering to increase the monthly amount that I pay 
wouldn't do anything to curry good will with her.  Please keep in mind 
that I was the one that was married to her.  My children have no need of 
a candy bar, at least not that they have mentioned to me.  Oh, did you 
mean sneakers?  Don't worry, they haven't wanted for those sorts of 
things ever in their short lives.
