Yes. I got bitten by one of these sites while looking for some help on solving an error message from Windows. When I clicked on the link from Google all of a sudden I got a virus scanning offer page that was a full screen shot with pretty pictures, et all. It took over my PC and installed some Trojans. I pulled the Ethernet cable and went through my usual suite of security techniques. After a couple of hours I was able to get all the malware off my PC.
It is bad when clicking on links out of Google since you bypass your security software doing so and allow anything coming in. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Michael Madigan" <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Wednesday, November 28, 2007 1:11 AM Subject: [NF] Search Google, click to massive malware attack? > http://www.pcworld.com/article/id,139999-page,1/article.html > > [excessive quoting removed by server] _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
