This almost happened to me tonight. I clicked on "free wifi" waiting to pick someone up at the library. I thought it was unusual that it said "peer to peer" instead of "access point".
Luckily my computer is locked down pretty well. I usually have the server service shut off and I don't have any disks shared. Almost instantly, they "Free WiFi" available network disappeared, I'm guessing because the hacker saw that it was locked down. Anyway, read this article, it's pretty informative. http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9008399&pageNumber=1 _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
