Absolutely.  I'd love to see the poll of America to see where they'd 
weigh in on public canings (or not). 

Yes, judgements are sometimes wrong, and the wrong guy might get 
caned...but do you through out an entire solution because of a 1% flaw 
rate?  How many things are 100% correct all of the time?  I suppose 
that's the argument against the death penalty...what if you (or a loved 
one) is that poor bastard in the 1% wrongly convicted?
