This might be interesting to some folks who have MS Office and want to
collaborate using shared documents:

Whatever anyone's feelings about MS and Office, Wired News article says
they have about 500 million users out there, and this is a pretty
attractive feature.

It's a good concept that is ripe for an easy to use, brand name product.

Google is getting more active in this area too, with google docs,
http://www.google.com/google-d-s/intl/en/tour1.html which doesn't
require Office be installed. Too early to tell which will prevail, but
in either case this is good news for us because we get to use these
tools right away instead of developing our own software or finding 3rd
party products. For the MS product, if you have office, just plug in
this extension and it's ready (it seems, haven't tried it) - and then
switch to google when/if they put out a better/more widely used product.
