Again I say, please read The Economist for good insight on this topic. This last issue talks about the effects of government subsidies around the world to protect their farmers. What is happening is that farmers are still being driven off the land in developed countries but farmers in undeveloped countries cannot earn a living because no one will buy the food they produce as the world price is too low for them. Poor countries are shut out from the world agricultural community.
