Again I say, please read The Economist for good insight on this topic. This 
last issue talks about the effects of government subsidies around the world 
to protect their farmers. What is happening is that farmers are still being 
driven off the land in developed countries but farmers in undeveloped 
countries cannot earn a living because no one will buy the food they produce 
as the world price is too low for them. Poor countries are shut out from the 
world agricultural community.
