Uh, Michael - there's a business model for this film industry. I've forced myself to study all payment streams, as this industry made (in 2006) more money than the 'standard Hollywood film' industry (Technically it pegged in at 1.7 times the standard Hollywood studios almagamation), and I thought would be a good industry for IT consulting and VFP apps. Her payments depend mostly on her contract. 14 movies in 2 years time is nothing - thats still under the thresh-hold for equity positions in distribution sales. If you don't understand 'equity positions in distribution sales' - don't sweat it - other 'Hollywood-oriented actors' have that (equity) written into their contracts as well. Usually, they start them out on a $$amount per day of shooting, and keep it that way on all subsequent contracts, as its easier on the film studios accounting to keep 'the talent' set for daily payments. A 90 min film can be shot in about 4 days. 2 years, 14 films, 4 days each - well - hey - there's a lot of other 'free time' . Maybe she made enough money to pay rent and utils, and save a bit for her move out of CA. Maybe she had a coke habit and her money went down THAT tube. Who Knows? Who Cares? There are OTHER payment models, but are set for more experienced TALENT. If you are truly interested, meet me at the next AVN event in Vegas, we'll book a mess o IT contracts (and no, I don't mean on screen TALENT contracts). Might be a good change of scenery for you - I'll leave you to yer own devices when an amicable chippy leans your way. It usually is 3 days, and many business networking events. If yer not truly interested, uh, sorry bud - just fade back into yer daytime gig (congrats on that, btw!!!) OH - and on to the 'why do they do it?' - it's a quick way to make enough money to be able to GET THE HECK OUT OF CALIFORNIA ! The TALENT came to California with a dream, that dream busted, they found the porn industry and fast money - and decided it was a good way to fund the next move. At least thats the 'plan' used by most of the TALENT . As to the 'enjoyment' aspect? Dude - if they didn't enjoy it, they wouldn't submit to being filmed whilst doing it.
