I figured I would start a new topic here for anyone and everyone to put their 2 cents in on their opinions of norton.
Yes, you are correct that norton does use a lot of system resources, but so does mcafee, or a few of the others. But I have a hard time believeing that it gets worse the longer you have it on to the point that you say. My system is a 2hz amd athlon with 2 gb or ram with over 25 items in my taskbar, outlook 2007 open 24/7, firefox open 24/7 and visual studio 2008 on about 4-6 hours a day and my system hasnt barked at me once. i just reformated my computer this weekend to week because i corrupted my video card drivers, but the system was running beautifully. each year symantec makes norton a bit more resource efficient. ohh, by the way, i have norton save and restore 1.0doing constant backups for all my machines most of the time. just download it and give it the 30 day trial that comes with it to see for yourself.
