I know you're not lawyers and all that, but ProFox has just the best 
darn advice on anything related to the technology we use every day. I 
"have a friend" that has ripped owned physical CD's into MP3's and also 
subscribes to a service like ITunes or Rhapsody which can create MP3's. 
  These MP3's are streamed through our stereo system using a wireless 
Omnifi DMS1.  Totally cool setup until "my friend" read the following

It is very difficult based on the information available to determine if 
MF is violating copy rights, breaking the law or putting his / her self 
at risk for legal action.

On the other hand everyone I know does this on a much larger scale than MF.
