I have downloaded one item. It limits you to one download per day unless you
contribute to their "wanted collection" when you are allowed 3 downloads per
day.

if they have been published before 1923. For more recent publications the
international rules are 50-70 years after the author died, or 90-120 years
after a company published it. For most of this software it would probably
mean that they become public domain by the end of this century, assuming
that copyright law doesn't change in the meantime.
