I posted about this a while ago -- I love it for my wife and kids --  
they are finding (and using) features that have long been there but  
they didn't know about. For me -- I despise it: I can't find  
*anything* and don't use it enough to learn where stuff is now. I end  
up swearing and saying "figure it out yourself."

I am a menus kind of a guy, as are most of you. We are unafraid to  
see a menu item and say to ourselves "I wonder what *that* does" and  
actually *try* it. Most people are not like that. They are not  
curious, and do not dig around in a program. If they happen across a  
menu item that they don't understand, they are still afraid to try it  
lest it ruin their work, or launch a random ICBM attack.

As I have said a few times, I have returned to teaching application  
software one or two days per week, so I see "real users" quite often.  
It is amazing how intimidated many still are by these machines, even  
folks with many years of experience.
