Do you really think native 64 bit apps will run faster in general? Speaking as someone who has lots of various assembler experience I would say that only *very* specific apps will benefit from a 64 bit CPU (today, at least). For example if you're heavily into 3D graphics rendering or if you're running something that needs > 4Gb of RAM. The x86 instruction set has to be the worst ever. Backwards compatible to some crappy 8bit CPU. Nice. IBM almost chose Motorola's 68000 for their PC. Now that's a nice CPU (32 bit from the programmers point of view). -- Paul _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
