If you're looking to play a single sound file across all slides, you may 
want to use the latest version of OO (2.3 I think). I believe you put it in 
the 'transition' effect of the first slide. Before that, I don't think it 
would play a single sound file across all slides.

You can save your OO file as a PPT file of course. Or, to actually be more 
"friendly", send it as a PDF (so the grand-kids will be able to view it 
long after MS has disappeared <g>).
