Hi Will

Do a google for "Shoot the messenger" by GRC

Not needed by XP as that comes with Windows Messenger Service disabled

Cheers

Subject: (OT)HOW TO GET RID OF HELPFIXPCPC.COM

I recently in stalled win2k pro to replace win98 as my Inet machine.
Immediately helpfixpc.com invaded with message
that my register had errors, and I should down load etc.

Have tried various methods, short of a raw disk scan for info that would
lead to my stoping the message repeating.Cant imagine who would buy from
such people. Anyone know of a a non risky fix fix, preferably one they
would not like. Because 98 is so old it was esentially very free of such
things.
