I just created several calendars and when you check it it populates the calendar view with the events in that calendar. So you could connect to someone else's calendar and when you click on it it will add their events to your calendar. If you un-click it their events go away. They can have different color boxes, too. Totally cool.
I have no idea where the data is stored but properties shows my calendar is "moz-profile-calendar://". The next one is "moz-profile-calendar://?id=2" "moz-profile-calendar://?id=3" and so on.
