It's only Microsoft that could make news about their web browser ("Are
they still making that?") by announcing that they have reversed their
previously announced plans so that IE8 will now come up in
standards-compliant mode (for a liberal enough definition of those two
words) rather than their originally-planned incompatible and
proprietary mode.

Tigers don't change their stripes. But that MSFT continues to be so
ham-handed and clumsy about this is disturbing. Is this what they mean
by "innovative?"
