Hillary, as well as many other legislators, voted for "Authorization To Use Military Force Against Iraq" to give President Bush leverage in dealing with Saddam Hussein in enforcing the Gulf War treaty, which forbid Iraq from having WMD.
Obama attacked Hillary's integrity and judgment over the vote to booster a perception that he is wise, and the only one that had judgment enough not to fold to the pressure/fear of the day, even though Obama was not even a member of Congress or the Senate at the time, and couldn't have voted one way or the other, even if he wanted to. We will never know for sure how Obama would have responded to that vote, if he had actually been under the same situation as all the other voting members of our legislature. Therefore, Hillary was accused of having made a mistake and then failing to admi it, when the situation really wasn't that simple. I think Hillary has been much more honest about the whole thing than Obama, and certainly more honest the President Bush who responded to a press conference question regarding his biggest failing/mistake during his time in office with: "I can't think of anything", even after all the political and military blunders he had made. From a political point of view, it really isn't wise to admin mistakes, or even admin that a mistake has somehow been made, so who is really the wise one here? Anyway, during Bill Clinton's presidency, Hillary failed to negotiate a national health care bill that would pass congress, even after a monumental effort, but she learned a few things in that effort that should help her today. Also, she has admitted to certain failing within her marriage, but rather than giving up, she has lived and learned, and is now in a much better position to bring universal health care to all American, and she is still married to Bill. What a women!
