Ah, but remember, it wasn't just for three hours.  The tour was supposed 
to have LASTED three hours, but when the storm caught them, and the 
"tiny ship was tossed,", we have no idea for how far or long they were 
blown off course, only that "The ship set ground on the shore of this 
uncharted desert isle."

My problem with that is, presumably they must have been about 1 1/2 
hours into the tour when the storm hit (to maximize distance away from 
port.)  There were NO weather reports of a storm of that magnitude less 
then 2 hours away?  The crew didn't check that?  The crew would have had 
to been the most bungling, incompetent.... uhm.... never mind.
