Graham - ya - they weren't so known for making the A routes from London to
Liverpool, no ? All those curvy bits in the road, so as not to need to
tear down the Regal Buildings and make a straight road.

Well, over here in Texas, mostly, the roads are straight, and tippage
ain't just that big of a deal. The curves are 'more gentle' and seemed to
be gradiated (is that the right word?) so is possible to make a turn at
higher speed coming off the expressway.

On a side note - hey - these weren't built for speed, high speed or sudden
changes in direction - what are you doing to make one tip over ? EEK !

FWIW, the A140 and A160 series were Mercedes 'econo' car, and for some
reason, even prior the Daimler buying Chrysler, just weren't set up for
export. It had nothing to do with Safety Standards (EU Standards are
higher than any Fed or State Safety Standards) or Emission Standards (EU
Standards are higher than California, the hardest emissions 'line' in the
CONUS). I know it was a 'money' thing - ie - MB known in USA for luxury
cars, and the A140 and A160 dinna fall into that category. I DO like the
TDI engines that come with em, though.
