> Thanks! Wow, looks complicated. Actually, the ground rules are simple enough. Trying to implement DNC compliance in a consistent, effective and consistent manner is what is difficult (actually, getting folks to use the tools is harder <g>). My objective is to provide all the tools, and management needed by my clients to get them into the "Safe Harbor" provision of the FTC legislation. That is where a company is making a reasonable effort to comply, so if there is a violation they may get a wrist-slap as opposed to a $11,000.00 (eleven thousand dollar) per violation fine - with up to the first $1,000.00 going to the person who reported the violation(s)! Dove-tailing the DNC enhancement into my VFP based CRM app was fairly easy, but only because I was fortunate enough to have had a form and table layout that was easy to adapt to the new structural and logic needs. The "big boys" in my industry make a mockery of really trying to help their dealers become compliant - it is more like they have offered a difficult to update and use tool so they can point to the dealer if something goes wrong and say, "Not our fault. We gave you all the tools you needed. You just had to learn how to do the updates and adapt to the new way of doing things." I was looking for as transparent a solution to offer as I could conjure up. I got lucky, luckier than others I have seen try to provide a solution.
If you are interested (or any other ProFox member) you are welcome to download my PowerPoint presentation I use for my seminars. I allow free use of the document for the asking (my gift to my industry, and all businesses at large), provided nobody makes any changes without letting me know, nor anyone claims the work is theirs. My ftp Server is located at gilhale.dnsalias.com. Log on as an anonymous user, do NOT use passive mode, navigate to the "FTC_DoNotCall" directory and pull the document named "FTC Telemarketing Legislation Do Not Call Regulation.ppt" (the other document covers a similar subject, but references an application that nobody was interested in after seeing my DCMS (CRM) application <g>).
