Gaah.... I've never had any issues with Asus products or its onboard USB, almost every pc i've built in the past 8 years involved using Asus motherboards or Asus barebones, like the Z71V notebook. I have had rather bad experiences in the past with Abit, Albatron, and ECS.
There are a lot of variables involved though, issues can flip-flop from one brand to the next, chipset brand/revisions, motherboard ic's used, bios versions, luck of the draw, etc, etc... For example ECS, as of late, is doing pretty well so far in my wife's newest build, mildly overclocked to boot! Depending on if your running a Intel processor, Intel build motherboards have been pretty solid so far for my client builds/oem replacements.
