I think the chiefs suffer from a general lack of vision, that there are 
drones in Microsoft as there are in any company or human community, but 
that at the same time Microsoft employs some of the most brilliant minds 
and software architects in the world. That, and the sheer amount of 
money they have available to throw at a problem, means that they can 
succeed even after taking many hits.
