Hi Stephen!

Adjusted for inflation gas and diesel are not as expensive as they have been 
in the past against other goods and services. The larger issue which no one 
wants to touch is that most people's wages have not kept up with general 
price increases, gas and diesel being a very visible part of this.

It seems to me that our standard of living is less than half of what it was at 
its peak. Of course, that's just my opinion. What, only 25% of US citizens 
have a comfortable financial position nowadays?
