So the same beefy server can host your ourCompany\Production as well as ourCompany\Staged and ourCompany\Test. Good idea for ourCompany\HotBackup If something goes STUPID in staged say a migration of schema you can down that instance and not harm your Production. Your connection string needs the name of the instance to connect. you will have to go to the configuration manager for SQL Server 2005 to open these new instances for use.
