Hi Pete! I believe that what you say is true, and China has come a long way since the Great Leap Forward. I included that link because it gave some visual verification to the practice of an assigned executioner (although nothing here about the stabbing) and because as an off-again / on-again supporter of the death penalty I can favor it in the abstract and oppose it in reality. Such is the price of judgment.
