Michael (Babcock),

Last night my wireless media player would not connect to the media server on
my desktop pc. Everything seemed to be operating properly, just would not
allow a connection.

Checked my firewall settings and the Windows firewall had been turned "ON"
(I'm using Trend Micro so I had turned the Windows firewall "OFF").

I turned the Windows Firewall back "OFF", and the media player was able to
connect and play my music.

I do have updates set to download, but I must allow the actual install.
It's apparent that the last security update changed the settings for the
Windows Firewall from "OFF" to "ON"...

I know they (M$) got into hot water awhile back because of this.

And btw, I saw softie-sympathizer the other day taking umbrage with
folks referring to Microsoft as "M$" -- geeez, lighten up buddy!
