- "Using Communication Tools for User Groups" by ALL There are a number of tools to communicate information to user group members like blogs and list servers. Rick wants to discuss what members would like to do to help foster communication in the group, or if it is even necessary. For instance, we can set up a blog and have meeting posts posted on the blog so members can pull it via RSS or visiting the blog site. Other Fox groups are doing this: is it something we can do to help get people get information about the meeting? How about a Yahoo Group (or something like it) for DAFUG to get questions posted, discuss ideas for future meetings? I know many VFP groups who do this and I monitor and participate in several and it works. - "Using VFPX in Live Applications" by Rick Schummer of White Light Computing Rick has been using VFPX components in the applications he uses internally and in applications he builds for his customer base. During this session you will see some of the components he is using in the application used to maintain registrations for Southwest Fox. If there is enough time he will also demonstrate some other VFPX components he is considering using in the future, and watching under development by the Fox Community. - Open discussion and the other normal chatter of tips and tricks. - Anything else people want to talk about. *** DOOR PRIZES *** We have a bunch of books and other door prizes courtesy of Microsoft. Free parking is available near the farmers market. Admission to DAFUG meetings will be granted free to anyone for 1 (one) meeting. After that you must either join the group (at the low cost of $30 a year, $15 for a half year) or you will be asked to pay $5 per meeting you attend. The $5 will grant you admission but no other rights or privileges of membership.
