My trick is to put the computed columns last in the list I ask for.  So I
can take the entire string of columns in one quick copy and paste in the
Group by section.

If you ever do an IIF() for say, every period or every quarter this is how
you could still "group by."  Never say group by 1,2,3,4 always put the
text.  Other back ends can't deal with it, so if you copy to execute
elsewhere you will get burned.
