One aspect of deploying my applications that gets the least attention is the install. Mainly because you install it and then provide updates that don't require the install. I set up a virtual XP machine on Ubuntu and started testing my installs on a fresh system and I was surprised at how sloppy they were. I went to work fixing them so that I got a smooth install every time and now I test every install before sending it out.
