No doubt we need to conserve, and I do (driving VW New Beetle diesel), but
Obama's vapor plan isn't the way. A multifaceted plan is needed, which
includes drilling in the barren, coastal plane of ANWR, AND persuing
alternative fuels. We can get new oil into production faster than we can
ramp up on the newer technologies. We are killing our economy because we
have allowed foolish people to push their foolish ideals onto the rest of
us.

Although the price of petroleum went up overnight, the trauma was a long
time in coming. The U.S. has been excessive in her use and dependence
on oil, refusing to conserve or plan for the day when demand for oil
would exceed supply. Hopefully, it's not too late for the USA to meet
her energy needs, but we need a coordinated national plan/policy.
