My guess is that you can't change her, but you can change the way you 
react to her. Also, I see people spending more going on an endless round 
of trips, amusement parks, restaurants, clubs and the like, so 11k is 
relative.

Has *this* back-and-forth become a game or an obsession for either of 
you? "Justice" might cost more than giving in on some of the things.
