Hi Everybody! http://www.organservice.com/images/kimball/kimballj900.JPG
My creditors are forcing me into bankruptcy. I have to provide a value of my Kimball Xanadu organ, which actually might have no value at all. It is in so-so condition. As some of you may recall this is a single row horseshoe 2 3/5 manual (3 octave short key "orchestra" as a top manual, two 61 key solo and accompaniment manuals) with 25 full length pedals. No MIDI. I paid $3500 for it in the old days at your second store, before all the new stuff came out and obsoleted it. I donated my previous two organs to churches. The battery is dead (loses it's two settable levels of 4 piston combination memory if the organ is turned off), the rhythms don't work, there are maybe 5 or 6 dead pedal notes that need re-wiring - which I haven't been able to do because I can't lift it, there is a 3" to 4" finish rubout on the right side of the console where generations of players have steadied themselves while getting on and off of the bench but the worst problem is that it is on the second floor of a no-elevator condo building and it weighs about 500 lbs! Taken apart it will fit through the door. I notice that a similar organ was offered on ebay at $999. CN a while ago and received no bids so it is most likely not worth that. More disturbing is the fact that similar organs offered on ebay at less than $80 US also received no bids. Is it worth anything at all? Large organs typically are given away in Sarasota for free on freecycle so perhaps this Kimball is worth nothing? It could be professionally appraised, but the appraiser wants $275 plus "expenses" to look at it and if it isn't worth even $100 that is not sensible even if I could spare the money, which I can't. I have to file a household inventory with the US court so I have to get a plausible, defensible figure or the court NAZIS will send me to the camps? Any suggestions would be most appreciated, thanks. -- Regards, Pete http://pete-theisen.com/ _______________________________________________ Post Messages to: [email protected] Subscription Maintenance: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profox OT-free version of this list: http://leafe.com/mailman/listinfo/profoxtech Searchable Archive: http://leafe.com/archives/search/profox This message: http://leafe.com/archives/byMID/profox/[EMAIL PROTECTED] ** All postings, unless explicitly stated otherwise, are the opinions of the author, and do not constitute legal or medical advice.
