I have Adobe Acrobat 9 Pro Extended and opened a 1,714,888 JPG file with it and then saved it as a PDF. It's size was reduced to and the size was reduced to 1,690,777 bytes. Then I opened the PDF file I created and converted that file to JPG using the "save as" menu option and its size was reduced again, this time to 1,681,508 bytes. The picture remained basically the same. I viewed the JPG file with MS Office Picture Manager. How do these measures compare with yours?
I hope this helps somewhat. Pablo H.
