You probably need to mess with Permissions. Open Folder tree and right-click 
the C: drive and click Properties. Click Security tab. What are the names 
displayed? Go down the list and be sure the user name is on it. Check off 
the options you want.

Turn off the firewall to see if that is affecting your results.

You can also "Use simple file sharing" but this defeats the purpose of all 
the security in Windows files.
