Edwards always struck me as a patently obvious sleaze-bag, and not just because of his history as an ambulance chaser. I could never understand the attraction he had for some of my Dem friends, particularly those who happen to be female. They apparently like this type of guy, all their feminist hemming and hawing about being "independent women" notwithstanding. They invariably pick the caricature of the kind of man they hate as their defender and champion. Clinton was of course another even more outrageous example, whose candle Edwards is not fit to carry, where shameless philandering and back-door cover-ups are concerned. The feminists loved this guy, and I could only scratch my head and wonder why.
